Copics complimentary Anniversary

Well here I am taking so long to post a card again.  I finally got a chance to upload and made a card for the copic challenge at Copic Creations.   They were wanting us to use complimentary colors for our card.  I used the pinks and purples with greens on the color wheel.  Hope you like it.  I am going to give it to my sister and her hubby for their anniversary today, a little late but better than not giving one at all I think.

I was pretty excited when I saw the Exotic fuchsia set that heartfelt creations has now and had to have it as they are one of my favorite f lowers.  Will definitely use this stamp lots.

Color Challenge

This was indeed a challenge for me.  CC 309 Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze and Daffodil delight.  I also did the try a new technique challenge TLC 311 for a Sliding pop up card.  It was fun to make and I am happy with how it turned out.

I also used the new Easter Blossoms set from our Occasions Mini catalogue.   The sentiment is from the Hope Happens stamp set.  I haven’t been able to participate in a challenge for a while and had the time today and was happy to get back at it.

Have a great day.

Stamp camp cards for Feb 21

Some of the girls taking my class would like to see the cards ahead of time.  So here goes.  I used by new Bliss Sale-a-bration set for two of the cards.  This card has the colors of daffodil delight, cherry cobbler, and early espresso.

Marina mist, basic black and very vanilla.

Here is a punch art card for this class.  I used the owl punch as well as the bird punch for the leaves and branch.

The last card is found in this post.  Enjoy your sneak peak.

Copics Creation Challenge No. 43 “We’re Cool”

So here we are again, a couple of days have passed since I have stamped, seeing that the flu season has hit (and hit me) I am behind.  I had to come home from work on Wednesday with stomach cramps, sore throat, headaches, feeling dizzy and generally really bad.  I went to bed for the rest of the day, except for when I needed fluids and pain relievers.  I saw the challenge at Copic Creations  We’re Cool, with the challenge to use the cool colors only on a card.  I thought, what better image to use then Whiff of Joy “Cool Oakley”.  He is indeed a cool little guy isn’t he.  My son picked him out when we were at Scrappin Great Deals last week.  I had not had a chance to color him yet and this was it now.  I of course looked to some of my favorite Copic colorers (is that a work)(Suzanne) to see how to shade and highlight him and am quite pleased with how he turned out.   I tried to keep it guy like and not add any ribbon or bows this time.  What do you think of him?

So here are the embellishments:  Stampin around wheel stars punched out with Stampin up small and large star punches and one cut out by hand, on a background of elegant soiree DSP with some Spellbinders nestabilities dies in very vanilla, and marina mist.  The stars are marina mist and wild wasabi.

Next we have glitter brads, even boys need a little glitter don’t you think.  These are from Stampin Up subtle brads.

Finally here is the little guy all alone.  He is a cutie!  Hope you all like him and it adds some interesting aspect to the Copic challenge.

Leave me some encouragement and comments, as I am learning with the Copics now and am looking to get better at it as I am not a natural artist.  I need lots of help!!!

CAS Happy Anniversary

I had to make this card after I saw one very similar on our Stampin Connection.   It used baja breeze where I used the cherry cobbler.  Also I used the flower from Happiness shared on my panel and the cherry cobbler seam binding.

So what do you think?   I just love it and many need to make a few more. I used my ribbon punch to do the faux scalloped layer in cherry cobbler.

Stamp Camp cards and Box

So here I am finally posting the cards from Monday night. I decided to do a box for my girls this time as well and instead of the class being 2 hours which it normally is it turned out being 3 hours. I was excited to have one of  the girls from work  come and try making cards for the first time. She had a great time and did a really good job with her cards and box. She was a really excellent student, listening and watching the others for hints on what to do next.

For the box I used the pizza box idea from Split Coast Stampers. The base of the card was made with soft suede card stock, then the layers are made with not quite navy, and some of the new DSP from the  Occasions mini catalog called Botanical Gazette. It has a belly band made with very vanilla and another layer of the DSP.  I layered up the modern label punch of very vanilla with cherry cobbler. The sentiment is from the Totally Tess stamp set. The the ribbon is made with the center being brought together with a circle rhinestone Brad.

The first card we did was a punch art card. The base of the card is concord crush. I did a layer of whisper white with a layer of Baja breeze on top. The tulips are made with the two step bird punch. I use the wing for the flower and cut the stem for the leaves on the vase and stems for the flowers and sponged the little wings the same color as the card stock which is daffodil delight and perfect plum. The sentiment is from the Oval All stamp set. It is layered up on the two large petals of the new build a blossom punch.

Our next card is made with our new thanks for caring stamp set, also from our new mini catalog. The new DSP called Springtime Vintage was used on this card as well. I used the 2 1/2 inch circle punch for the sentiment with rose red ink and always artichoke. I also use the vintage flower adornment in rose red and the always artichoke seam binding. Of course the girls are always happy when I put a bow on the card. I sponged around the top layer. The bottom layers are always artichoke and baja breeze.

For this card we used the hostess set of punch and used the new tulips embossing folder on rich razzleberry card stock. The black layer is embowed with the elegant lines folder.  I stamped the sentiment twice and layered up the little heart on the end.

This card is made with the new Naturae Walk Stamp set.  Iwas hard to limit myself to these cards as there is so much wonderful stuff from the nwe Mini Catalogue that I wanted to share.  We used the faux silk technique of stamping on tissues paper and crumpling it  and gluing it to the card stock.  I was able to use the new bevelled window pane on this card as well.  What great colors together. I used some more of the Botanical Gazette and embossed it with the tulip folder and sanded it to distress it.

I have some more cards to show you but better wait till tomorrow for that.  It took me so long to do this post that now it is time to make supper.

Till next time.

My version

So this is my version of a beautiful card and I saw posted the other day that uses new items from the occasions many catalogs. They use the springtime vintage designer series paper and the vintage flower adornment and the thanks for caring stamp set. The original card can be found here.

I didn’t want to make it exactly the same so I changed the paper from the DSP that I used. The colors that are used are rose red, Baja breeze, always artichoke and pear pizzazz. I also used a glimmer Brad to attach my lace ribbon to the tag. I was able to incorporate my always artichoke seam binding ribbon along with my lace and pear pizzazz ribbons. I added a vanilla Rosette to the tag as well. I use the textured impressions embossing folder frame tulips.

I hope you all like this card as much as I do.

Owl Wedding

I saw this card on a blog and had to try it.  It is so cute.  I would not have thoughy of the details she put into it.  Hope you like it.

I used my owl punch and bird punch to make this as well as my Teeny Tiny wishes set for the greeting.

Congratulations Card

This is a card I made for my work partner.  She is going to a wedding on the 31st of December.  The dresses for the girls are apparently red so I thought a little touch of red would be nice on the card.  Hope you like it  Linda.I am still sad as the brown truck is now 4 day late in delivering my order.  So still no playing with my new products.  Waa!

I used my elegant lines embossing folder on this card and my work play stamp set.  Red is of course cherry cobbler  for cardstock and seam binding ribbon.  I printed out the names on my computer to personalized the card.

Sponged Laughter

Yesterdays challenge on SCS was to use sponging on a card.  Here is a card I have been wanting to make for a while, mostly because I have not used this posy stamp yet.  I stamped it twice and embossed it, cut and layered it.

Today it was all about baja breeze.  Hope you like it.
