Happy Anniversary Crystal and Richard

This is a special day.  My friends Crystal and Richard are celebrating their anniversary today.  Since she is the great, terrific and wonderful friend who got me started at making cards I always try to made a special card for her that I have not tried before.  So here it is.

Inside View

STAMPIN UP SETS USED:  Echos of Kindness, To Have and To Hold

ACCESSORIES:  Baja breeze double stitched grosgrain ribbon, 1 3/4, 1 3/8, 1 1/4 inch circle punches, Stampin Dimensionals, crystal effects.

I really enjoyed making this card as it was a labor of love.  I hope you like it.

Try a new technique

Here is a card I made to try the double sided glue, glitter technique.  I wasn’t sure if it was finished yet but after looking at it overnight I decided it was.  I used my Love Owl-ways set from Stampin Up.

COLORS:  Chocolate chip, riding hood red, pink pirouette, shimmery white

ACCESSORIES:  Word window punch, large oval and small oval punches, stampin dimensionals, Candy lane DSP

Hope you like it.

Finally some new pictures for you all

Sorry I have been so delinquent.  I guess you could blame my new job at the hospital, which I love by the way,  it is taking up some of my precious stamping time, but it is nice to have a paycheck too!

New challenge card done for Monday December 1st on splitcoast stampers.  We were to brayer a piece of glossy card stock with a colour and then spray with simply green cleaner to get a speckled effect.  I do not have any of that cleaner so used Windex instead.  It worked pretty good but I think it is a wise idea to always spray it first to see how much will come out.  I sprayed a little too much and had to cover the boo boo with my top layer, can’t really tell though eh.

Next I have the card I made this morning off Dawn’s website.  I saw this a while ago and had to try it.  I copied her idea almost exactly.  This is the link to the video instructions.  http://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/dawns_stampin_studio/2008/10/another-spinner-card.html

Lastly here are the cards I got to made at my up-line’s, Crystal, club meeting on Saturday.  I always learn from her.

We got to play with Crystal’s Big Shot and cuddlebug embossing folders.

Here we made a emboss resist card using designer paper.  Cool

On this card I learned that if you line up the tag punches right you can use them as square punches as well.

Happy Anniversary Distressed Look

Happy Anniversary to Kurt and Julie.  Married for 9 years on the 20th of this month.  My friend Julie is very krafty, in the nice sense of that word of course.  I wanted to make a special card for them.  Here it is:

Here is my attempt at the distressed look posted on Andrea Walfords site here:  http://andreawalford.com/?p=697 .  I have to give credit where credit is due so you will notice mine is quite similar to Sophie’s card and tutorial.

Stampin Up Sets Used:  Toile BG, Baroque Motifs

Micheal’s:  Happy Anniversary Stamp

Colors Used:  bashful blue, baja breeze, pacific point, creamy caramel, chocolate chip, old olive, riding hood red

ACCESSORIES:  Riding hood red tafetta ribbon, jumbo eyelets, slot punch, ticket corner punch, sponges, scallop edge punch, 1/16 hole punch, acetate for masking, two way glue,

I am not sure this picture does this card justice as it is hard to see the old olive BGstamping.  But I am quite happy with how it turned out and hope that our friends Julie and Kurt will like it too.

What do you think?

Sorry I have been so delinquent with my blog but I am adjusting to my new job and have been quite tired.  I am now trained and will be working part time which was exactly what I was looking for in a job.  Thanks for being patient and checking back.  I have another card to get working on for a good friend and fellow stamper Kathie, who has recently left for Florida.  I wanted to have it sent to her before she got there but no such luck.

Check back tomorrow to see that one.
